Pack a Bag: This Five-Day Savannah & Charleston Getaway Leaves From Mount Dora

A local tour company is making it easy to trade Lake Dora for River Street, Tybee Island and Charleston’s historic district for five days this November.

Some vacations begin with a long drive to the airport, parking, security lines and a carefully organized spreadsheet of hotel reservations and attraction tickets.

This one begins in Mount Dora.

On November 9, Worth It Moments Tour & Travel will depart from Mount Dora with one motorcoach headed north for a five-day trip through Savannah, Charleston and several of the coastal communities in between. The group returns November 13. Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce

For local travelers who like the idea of getting away but not necessarily everything that comes with planning a multi-city trip, most of the logistics are already handled.

Savannah, Charleston—and Plenty in Between

This is not simply a bus ride to two cities and back.

The planned itinerary stretches across the Georgia and South Carolina coast, with stops that mix historic sites, sightseeing, waterfront destinations and time to explore independently.

In Savannah, travelers can expect time in the historic city and along River Street, Savannah’s cobblestone-lined waterfront district. The itinerary also includes a fully narrated Old Town Trolley Tour. Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce

Beyond downtown Savannah, the group is scheduled to visit the Tybee Island Light Station, stop along the Georgia coast at Jekyll Island and have lunch at The Crab Shack overlooking the marshes. Travelers will also have free time to explore Beaufort, South Carolina. Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce

Then there is Charleston.

Planned experiences include a guided visit to Boone Hall Plantation, Patriot’s Point Naval & Maritime Museum and a classic carriage ride through Charleston’s historic district. Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce

It adds up to a trip that moves around quite a bit—without requiring guests to do the driving.

The Planning Is Part of the Package

Worth It Moments is an Eustis-based tour company founded by Erinn Proehl that specializes in curated group travel. Its trips are built around taking many of the logistical pieces off the traveler’s plate: transportation, lodging, itineraries, tickets and group coordination. Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce

The company offers domestic and international travel, but there is an obvious advantage to this particular trip for Lake County residents: everyone boards together locally.

The Savannah and Charleston package includes motorcoach transportation from Mount Dora, four nights of lodging, seven meals and the tickets and admissions included in the itinerary. The schedule also combines organized activities with free time, giving travelers opportunities to wander, shop or find their own restaurant between planned experiences. That makes it an option not only for couples or groups of friends, but also for solo travelers who would rather experience a new destination as part of a group than navigate the entire trip alone.

What It Costs

The five-day trip is $1,390 per person based on double occupancy.

Single occupancy is available for $1,890, and a $250 non-refundable deposit per person is required to reserve a spot. Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce

There is one other important number: one motorcoach.

Worth It Moments is limiting this departure to a single bus. Once the available seats are filled, additional interested travelers will be placed on a waiting list. Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce

From Mount Dora to the Lowcountry

There is something particularly appealing about being able to start a vacation close to home.

No assembling a caravan of cars. No figuring out where everyone should meet in Savannah. No building five days of reservations and admission tickets from scratch.

Just pack the suitcase, board in Mount Dora and let someone else worry about the road north.

The Savannah & Charleston from Mount Dora trip runs November 9–13, 2026. Travelers can view the full trip details and reserve their spot through Worth It Moments Tour & Travel. Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce
