WQBQ Talk Track: The Holistic Spot Brings Wellness Practitioners Under One Roof in Mount Dora

The Chamber, The “Q,” and You on WQBQ is a free on-air opportunity for Chamber members to share insights, highlight their services, and connect directly with the community.

Wellness does not look the same for everyone.

For one person, it may mean yoga or meditation. For another, it could be breathwork, sound healing, a workshop, a conversation with a practitioner, or simply finding a place to slow down and explore something new.

That variety is at the heart of The Holistic Spot, a Mount Dora wellness venue and community space designed to bring different practitioners, experiences and approaches to well-being together under one roof.

During a recent episode of The Chamber, The “Q,” and You on WQBQ, Carolina Solano, owner of The Holistic Spot, joined the conversation to introduce the space, explain the idea behind it and share how it is creating opportunities for both the public and wellness professionals in the Mount Dora area.

One Space, Many Approaches to Wellness

One of the most important things to understand about The Holistic Spot is that it is not built around a single practice.

Its website groups its programming into several areas, including mind-body wellness, therapeutic and transformational sessions, spiritual exploration, and community learning. Depending on the practitioner or program, experiences can include yoga, meditation, sound healing, mindful movement, breathwork, workshops, healing circles, intuitive practices and other wellness-focused offerings.

That range gives people an opportunity to explore different approaches in one setting rather than needing to know exactly what they are looking for before they walk through the door.

During the WQBQ conversation, Carolina emphasized the importance of creating an environment where people can discover what resonates with them, whether they are already familiar with holistic wellness or are simply curious about trying something new.

The Holistic Spot describes its broader vision as creating a physical sanctuary for spiritual growth, conscious living and what it calls “soulful entrepreneurship,” with a focus on community and personal growth alongside individual experiences.

A Home for Wellness Professionals, Too

The concept also works from the other side of the equation.

The Holistic Spot gives independent therapists, coaches, instructors and wellness professionals access to space where they can meet privately with clients or host classes, workshops and events. The Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce member directory specifically identifies room rentals as an important part of the business.

The facility includes two consultation rooms as well as spaces designed for small and larger groups. The Holistic Spot currently lists its small room for gatherings of up to 12 people and its larger room for up to 30, with hourly and package-based rental options available.

For independent practitioners, that creates another way to establish or grow a presence in the community without necessarily maintaining an entire studio or office of their own.

It also creates something bigger than a collection of rooms. Bringing different professionals into the same environment allows The Holistic Spot to function as a gathering place where classes, private sessions, workshops and community experiences can all happen within the same broader wellness community.

An Open House for the Holistic-Curious

For anyone wondering what all of that actually looks like, The Holistic Spot is opening its doors.

On Saturday, August 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the venue will host The Holistic Spot Open House: A Healing Arts Experience at 1111 N. Donnelly Street in Mount Dora.

Admission is free, giving visitors an opportunity to see the space, meet participating wellness professionals and learn more about the different practices represented there. Mini sessions will also be available during the event.

For someone who has heard terms like sound healing, meditation or other holistic practices but has never quite known where to begin, the open house offers a low-pressure way to ask questions, meet practitioners and see what The Holistic Spot is all about.

And that may be the simplest way to understand the concept Carolina described on WQBQ: you do not have to arrive already knowing which path is right for you. The Holistic Spot is designed to give people a place to explore.
