Mondays have a reputation for being the quiet day in a small town. A few restaurants take a well-earned breather after the weekend, the pace slows down a little, and things feel just a bit more relaxed.

But Mount Dora still knows how to eat.

This is, after all, the city that was ranked No. 3 in the country for Best Small Town Food Scene in the 2026 USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. Even on a Monday, you can find everything from breakfast and Cuban food to Belgian fries, pizza, seafood, steaks, sushi and fine dining.

So, who’s open Monday?

We pulled together the Mount Dora Area Chamber restaurant members on the Monday dining list at the Visitor Center and put them in order by when they open.

Cody’s on 4th — Opens at 7:30 a.m.

The earliest start on the list, Cody’s serves breakfast and lunch with quiche, sandwiches, soups, salads, baked goods and desserts — including its well-known carrot cake.

Beauclaire Dining Room at Lakeside Inn — Opens at 8 a.m.

Start the morning inside historic Lakeside Inn with a classic breakfast, then return later for a menu that moves into salads, seafood, steaks and Southern-inspired dishes.

The Verandah at Lakeside Inn — Opens at 8 a.m.

Breakfast with a side of Lake Dora. The Verandah offers another way to dine at Lakeside Inn while taking in one of the prettiest settings in town.

Anthony’s Pizza & Italian Restaurant — Opens at 11 a.m.

Pizza, stromboli, calzones, subs and Italian-American classics like lasagna and chicken parmesan make up the menu at this longtime local option.

Copacabana Cuban Café — Opens at 11 a.m.

Ropa vieja, vaca frita, arroz con pollo, Cuban sandwiches, croquetas and plantains bring plenty of Cuban flavor to downtown.

Dirty Richard’s Pizza Pub & Grill — Opens at 11 a.m.

Pizza leads the way, but the menu also covers wings, calzones, subs, burgers and plenty of classic pub fare.

Fifth Avenue Streatery — Opens at 11 a.m.

This Uptown favorite serves scratch-made Southern fusion with burgers, sandwiches, seafood, salads and comfort food with creative twists.

Fiesta Grande Mexican Grill — Opens at 11 a.m.

Tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, burritos, quesadillas, guacamole and margaritas make Fiesta Grande an easy Monday lunch or dinner choice.

Las Palmas Cuban Restaurant — Opens at 11 a.m.

Cuban sandwiches, traditional entrées, seafood, rice, beans and plantains fill out the menu at this downtown favorite.

LongHorn Steakhouse — Opens at 11 a.m.

Steaks take center stage, joined by burgers, chicken, seafood, salads and steakhouse favorites like Wild West Shrimp and Parmesan-crusted dishes.

Mellow Mushroom — Opens at 11 a.m.

Known for its stone-baked pizzas, Mellow Mushroom also serves calzones, burgers, salads and shareable “Munchies,” with vegan and gluten-free pizza options available.

The Salted Fry — Opens at 11 a.m.

Belgian-style pommes frites with house-made dipping sauces are the main attraction here, alongside sandwiches, craft sodas, beer and wine. The food menu is entirely gluten-free.

Tony’s Clam Chowder — Open 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

The signature clam chowder is the star at this tiny downtown seafood spot, with fish, shrimp and other seafood favorites rounding out the menu.

Whiskey Kitchen — Opens at 11 a.m.

Burgers, wings, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, steaks and seafood give Whiskey Kitchen one of the broader menus on the list — naturally accompanied by an extensive whiskey selection.

The Yardery — Opens at 11 a.m.

Chef-driven comfort food, handhelds, shareables, cocktails and local brews meet a big outdoor yard and Mount Dora’s rooftop bar.

Pisces Rising — Opens at 11:30 a.m.

Lake Dora views come with seafood, steaks and Southern Florida-inspired dishes at one of Mount Dora’s signature waterfront restaurants. Bonus for Monday: happy hour runs all day.

PizzAmoré — Opens at 11:30 a.m.

Pizza is only the beginning, with pasta, baked subs, wings, salads, calzones and Italian favorites also filling out the menu.

Salt & Ember — Opens at 11:30 a.m.

One of the newest additions to downtown dining, Salt & Ember pairs prime steaks with oysters, lobster, tuna tataki, caviar and handcrafted cocktails.

Texas Roadhouse — Opens at 3 p.m.

Hand-cut steaks, ribs, chicken, burgers and those famous fresh-baked rolls make Texas Roadhouse the first Monday dinner-only option to open its doors.

1921 Mount Dora — Opens at 4 p.m.

Florida-inspired fine dining takes center stage at 1921, where the seasonal menu highlights ingredients from local and regional farms, artisan producers and fishermen.

Back Porch Pizza Bar — Opens at 4 p.m.

Creative handcrafted pizzas, wings, garlic knots, salads and craft cocktails make this downtown spot a relaxed way to start the evening.

Vincent’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria — Opens at 4 p.m.

Pizza, pasta, lasagna, ravioli, Alfredo and plenty of other Italian comfort-food classics are on the menu at Vincent’s.

WAVE Asian Bistro & Sushi — Opens at 4:30 p.m.

WAVE puts its playful spin on Asian cuisine with sushi, ramen, hibachi and creations like sushi burgers, burritos, tacos and its famous Sushi Crunch Wrap.

Monday Looks Pretty Good From Here

A slower start to the week does not mean settling for whatever happens to be open.

In Mount Dora, Monday can still mean Cuban food and margaritas, pizza and pasta, lakefront seafood, steaks, sushi, Belgian fries, a historic dining room or a full-on fine dining night.

Not bad for the quiet day.
