Howey Music Series Adds Second Performance of Free Family Concert “Spooky Serenades” at Far Reach Ranch

Popular Orlando Philharmonic Symphony Storytime event expands to two performances on October 24

TAVARES, FL — September 12, 2026 — Due to popular demand, the Howey Music Series has added a second performance of “Spooky Serenades,” a free family concert featuring the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra’s Symphony Storytime Series, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Far Reach Ranch in Tavares.

Originally scheduled for one performance, the event will now offer two opportunities for families to attend, making it easier for more young children to experience the magic of live orchestral music in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

The newly added performance begins at 10:30 a.m., with the Instrument Petting Zoo opening at 10:00 a.m. The original 11:00 a.m. performance will remain, with the Instrument Petting Zoo available before and after the concert.

Designed especially for children ages 3–7 and their families, Symphony Storytime combines live orchestral music with narration and beautiful hand-drawn illustrations that bring beloved children's stories to life. Young audience members are encouraged to experience the performance in whatever way feels comfortable for them — including dancing, wiggling, cheering and making plenty of noise.

“Spooky Serenades” will bring this engaging introduction to classical music to Far Reach Ranch, creating a unique setting for a morning of music and family fun.

Before and after each performance, children can visit the Instrument Petting Zoo, where they can see, touch and try a variety of musical instruments with guidance.

“We are thrilled that so many families are excited about Spooky Serenades that we've been able to add another performance,” said Emily Heumann, Executive & Artistic Director of the Howey Music Series. “Our goal is to make classical music feel welcoming, joyful and accessible to young children, and there is no better way to do that than by letting them get close to the musicians, explore instruments and experience a live orchestra together.”
